The State of Women Owned Businesses in Florida

With a large and diverse population, Florida continues to expand its reputation not only as a popular vacation spot and favorite retirement spot for baby boomers, but also for welcoming women entrepreneurs and business owners.

According to the Florida Women’s Business Center, Florida ranks 4th among the 50 states in its number of women-owned businesses.

Its growth of women-owned businesses outpaces the national growth rate, and from 2002 to 2016 Florida women-owned businesses have grown by 67% compared to 45% nationally, making Florida No. 1 in the country for growth of women-owned businesses.
